Let's talk about some issues that need to be paid attention to when maintaining the filter

1) The dust outlet should be located at the lowest part of the filter, so that particulate matter and a small amount of rainwater can be completely discharged (the waterproofing of the air inlet cap and the air inlet intermediate interface should not be neglected)

When the dust outlet valve is damaged or falls off, and the rubber of the dust outlet loses its elasticity and cannot be closed, when the filter is under negative pressure, air enters the filter from the dust outlet valve.

Under the action of the internal and external pressure difference, not only will the unfiltered air directly enter the air filter element, but the filtered dust cannot be discharged, causing the filtering effect and service life of the air filter to be greatly reduced.

Working in rainy days or in an environment with high air humidity will cause the separated dust to condense and gather at the outlet of the dust outlet valve, so that the dust cannot be discharged smoothly. You can often clean the dust outlet and dust outlet channel to see if there is any dust discharge problem.

2) The filter paper of the safety filter element has a large permeability, low resistance, and low filtration efficiency. It is not allowed to start the engine when only the safety filter element is installed. The safety filter element does not need maintenance and cleaning. It is not allowed to remove the safety filter element during maintenance. To prevent dust from entering the air intake duct (even when the machine is shut down).

If dust is found on the safety filter element, the most likely possibility is that the main filter element is damaged. The main filter element and the safety filter element should be replaced immediately.

Of course, when dust falls on the safety filter element when cleaning the main filter element, the safety filter element can be removed and cleaned.

My suggestion is: you can keep a previously replaced safety filter element. At this time, you can temporarily install it and replace it after cleaning.

3) The cleaning order of the filter should be: First, remove the main filter element, plug the two ends of the filter element with a clean cloth or rubber plug, use a soft brush to brush the dust on the surface of the filter element along the fold direction, and gently tap the end face of the filter element to make the dust fall off.

You can use 0.2-0.3MPa compressed air or a leather tiger to blow air from the inside to the outside of the filter element to blow away the dust adhering to the outer surface of the filter element. It is forbidden to use liquid cleaning during cleaning to prevent dust from adhering to the filter element and causing the filter element to be blocked.

Secondly, check whether the main filter is damaged. Check whether the upper and lower end surfaces are warped and uneven; check whether the rubber seal of the main filter is damaged; check whether there is dust inside the main filter. If the above problems exist, the main filter should be replaced immediately.

Finally, use a strong flashlight to check whether the filter is damaged. Do not remove the safety filter during inspection. If the safety filter is damaged, it should be replaced immediately. When cleaning the air filter housing, use a clean rag to wipe the inner wall of the housing and check whether the dust exhaust valve can exhaust dust normally.

4) If the air filter is cleaned frequently, the filtering capacity of the filter element will not be fully utilized, which will not only increase the amount of dust entering the engine and cause abnormal wear of the engine, but also cause early damage to the filter element.

After each cleaning of the filter element, its dust holding capacity will decrease by 20%-40%. As the number of cleanings increases, the dust holding capacity of the filter element will gradually decrease. After the filter element is cleaned about 6 times, its dust holding capacity is basically lost. At this time, a new filter element should be replaced immediately.

5) As mentioned earlier, the method of maintaining the air filter when the filter warning light is on is not suitable for China's national conditions. However, truck manufacturing technology is imported, and Europeans and Americans think it should be like this, and there should be a reason for it!

The fact that we are not used to it now does not mean that we will not be able to cope with it in the future, so I think we still need to understand it.

When the air filter reaches the end resistance, the mass of dust stored is called the dust storage capacity, expressed in g (grams). The dust storage capacity is a sign of the service life of the air filter element. When the air filter needs maintenance and the intake resistance reaches the set value, the indicator light will light up and send a maintenance signal, prompting the driver to immediately maintain or replace the air filter.
